To reduce the impact of tobacco on health and well-being in the future we must do more to prevent young people taking up smoking in the first place. The rate of smoking prevalence among children (under 16) has remained constant at 9% for the last four years.
In January 2008 Gibber designed an innovative education programme to target key stage 4 pupils in partnership with Newcastle PCT. Through a combination of live theatre, multi media and interactive workshops ‘The Truth’ gives young people a voice and educates them about the tactics that the tobacco industry employs to manipulate their actions.
